Glendal Pre-school is a comfortable, bright and friendly centre with spacious indoor and outdoor areas, well equipped to encourage your child’s physical, social and emotional development. We pride ourselves on having a happy, progressive pre-school run by caring and dedicated staff. A fully qualified teacher and an experienced assistant provide an interesting and well balanced program, aimed at helping each child reach his/her optimum level of development.
Our large indoor play area includes home corner and dramatic play area for individual and group activities. Indoor activities are set up to encourage the children to participate in a wide range of developmentally appropriate skills. We believe routines give the children a feeling of security. Our program is semi structured and also allows children free choice to enhance decision making.
Our large outdoor area has been recently upgraded to an environmentally conscious space, featuring a rainwater tank, dry river bed, hammocks and many sensory plants and vegetable garden. We have lots of play equipment, undercover areas, a cubby house, fantasy garden, water play area and a large sun-protected sandpit.
We now have installed a 5,000 litre rainwater tank that enables us to flush toilets without using mains water. We were able to install this under the Australian Governments Community Water Grants program. It has been up and running since April 2008. Together with our rain water tank for the play area the children are learning the important message about water saving
